We have found a variety of helpful resources that range anywhere from grief support groups to music that ministers. Here are some of our favorites:

www.compassionatefriends.org  - A support group for bereaved parents. Meets once a month. Find a local chapter in your area by using the chapter locator on the Compassionate Friends website.
Hearts of Hope - Children's Grief Connection - Hearts of Hope camp, Hearts of Hope teen retreat and Family Grief Connection are all provided at no charge to participants thanks to the generosity of our Memorial Program participants, members of the funeral industry and our continued support from individual donors. However, refundable $100 family deposit is asked to reserve a spot. Camps are held in MN.

**I must preface this book list with a comment. Grief is unique to each person. What helps one person may not help another. That goes for music, books, etc. I merely list these because many of these are books I have personally read and found comfort in. The grief-stricken mind is extremely limited on what it can process, so most of the books (excluding the Heaven book by Randy Alcorn) are of a shorter, more manageable length and are easier to read/comprehend, especially in the beginning when grief is so fresh.

Poetry and Prose: (Click HERE to open the link.)
(Poems are arranged one per page. Poems may be shared in their entirety without change or editing and only with the author's name included.)

      Grief quotes:

Grief is not a disorder, a disease or a sign of weakness. It is an emotional, physical and spiritual necessity, the price you pay for love. The only cure for grief is to grieve. - Earl Grollman

The following quote is not necessarily a grief quote, but I think it's applicable. I'm not sure if the author is Joyce Meyers, but I saw it posted by a FB friend with attributing it to her.

"Everything we run away from has power over us; everything we go through, we conquer."

**There are hundreds of other grief quotes, but I don't list them here as they can be found simply by doing a Google search on "grief quotes."**
